The project entails the revitalization of a 290m² apartment nestled within a 1970s building by the renowned modernist architect Miguel Juliano. Guided by a steadfast commitment to elevate the visual identity of the modular structure enveloping the apartment, we applied a cream-coloured texture to the concrete columns and beams. Delicately integrated indirect lighting further accentuates the original architectural structure, fostering a harmonious blend of preservation and modernization. The introduction of a terrazzo floor not only interjected a contemporary flair but also imbued the space with a clean and fluid ambience.
The building itself served as the utmost inspiration. We were driven to maximize the inherent beauty of the arched structure, the verdant charm of the gardened terrace, and the breathtaking vistas. Drawing inspiration from the clean lines and innovative solutions of Australian contemporary architecture, we sought to modernize the space while preserving its authenticity. Our main premise was to imbue the rooms with a sense of spaciousness, luminosity, and openness. To achieve this, we explored textures and materials that would evoke these qualities, ensuring a captivating transformation within the space.
