SHORTLIST ARCHITECTURE | Commercial & Offices

Project Description

Located on Avenida Rebouças, the showroom was shaped by urban constraints such as a 10-meter height limit and specific setbacks. The project adopts a hybrid structure—concrete pillars and metal beams supporting post-tensioned slabs—enabling varied ceiling heights and staggered levels. Independent metal walkways create a dynamic circuit. The entrance, a dark concrete tunnel, opens into a bright space with terraced gardens in corten steel, designed with Luis Carlos Orsini and inspired by topographic contour models.

Project Concept

Rather than a conventional store, the Bontempo showroom was envisioned as a cultural and experiential hub. Without direct sales functions, the space is entirely dedicated to brand activation, welcoming a variety of events such as art exhibitions, architecture and design talks, book launches, and award ceremonies. The goal was to embody the brand’s identity not through products on display, but through curated experiences that place it within a broader cultural dialogue.

The architectural concept stems from this vision. The project seeks to establish a spatial narrative that begins with a compressed, introspective entry and unfolds into a luminous and interconnected environment. Through natural light, varied ceiling heights, and layered circulation paths, the design enhances the sense of movement and openness.

Beyond being a showroom, the space operates as a meeting point for creative and cultural exchange. Every design decision—from the staggered structural layout to the integration of landscape elements—reinforces this ambition, transforming the building into an urban oasis and a platform for connection.
