SHORTLIST INTERIOR DESIGN | Residential

Project Description

Casa França is a 1,200 m² residence in São Paulo, renovated to meet the complex demands of family life. The interior layout was reorganized across four levels, separating social, private, and wellness areas while maintaining fluid transitions. Durable materials like travertine marble and slatted wood were used to define spatial zones and control acoustics. Large openings and integrated landscaping enhance natural light and ventilation. Custom furnishings and curated artworks support a clear spatial hierarchy, balancing visual coherence with flexibility of use. The project prioritizes comfort, clarity, and long-term performance.

Project Concept

Casa França was envisioned as a retreat for family life, where interiors offer clarity, rhythm, and connection. Upon arrival, the entrance hall invites pause, framing a vertical garden that introduces the relationship between architecture and nature. The design favors spaciousness and continuity, allowing each floor to unfold with calm precision. Neutral tones dominate the furnishings, creating a quiet backdrop that highlights textures—stone, wood, fabric—and curated works of art. Pieces by Vik Muniz, Túlio Pinto, and Daniel Senise are thoughtfully placed alongside furniture by Jader Almeida and Flos lighting fixtures. Rather than seeking impact, the interiors embrace permanence and serenity, encouraging a slower rhythm and a deeper engagement with space and family life.
