SHORTLIST ARCHITECTURE | Houses

Project Description

A contemporary and sustainable smart home designed to blend into the landscape through large glass surfaces. Built with engineered wood, using glued laminated timber technology, featuring walls and ceilings made from reforested wood. It has a horizontal layout, flat roof, and a modular design concept (with 120×120 cm modules). Four different floor plans options have been developed to suit users’ needs. Sustainability is achieved through smart design, renewable materials, clean construction methods, low energy use, minimal waste generation, and an efficient assembly with prefabricated components.

Project Concept

The Casa Scheid 120 is inspired by Alôncio Scheid’s modular dream from 1970, developed in partnership with architect and professor Mauri Poisl during the design of Casa Turiscar, a home based on a versatile construction method that allowed for various configurations to meet diverse housing needs. Ahead of its time, the 1970 house serves as both a foundation and an inspiration for the updated system that defines the Casa Scheid 120.

The goal of CASA SCHEID120 is to break away from the often chaotic construction process, providing a sanctuary for those who cherish time, nature, the senses, and a simplified way of living. We believe that the architecture we create is a movement that transforms lives, and our role is to ensure this journey is seamless, efficient, and ultimately filled with joy.
This is a house that combines the timeless essence of wood with advanced residential technology, celebrating architecture and thoughtful design choices with the expertise of every supplier involved. The result is a living experience that embodies warmth, well-being, security, and comfort.
