SHORTLIST PRODUCT DESIGN | Lighting Design

Product Description

Dice Light is composed of three layers of stainless steel plates, spaced apart to create a lightweight, multi-layered structure. Each plate is divided into four squares, containing one to four light sources, establishing a clear rhythm and visual hierarchy. The fixture operates with independent control: four lighting blocks can function separately and synchronize with audio, generating light scenarios in sync with music. This approach strengthens the connection between light and the bar environment. The contrast between the cold metal surface and dynamic lighting allows the object to shift from a subtle architectural accent to a dominant visual feature. Precision in detailing, assembly and material execution emphasizes its technical clarity and craftsmanship.

Product Concept

.dpt designed the Dice Light pendant as part of the interior for the Nightcall bar in Moscow. The concept is based on rhythm and variability, expressed through a modular composition referencing the logic of a dice. Repeating square elements create a geometric system that incorporates an element of chance and play. Dice Light acts as a medium connecting the bar space, sound and user behavior, shaping an evolving atmosphere. The fixture establishes a distinct identity as both an architectural element and an interactive object.
