SHORTLIST INTERIOR DESIGN | Residential

Project Description

Set within a clearing in the forest at Itamambuca Beach, this vacation home features a predominantly square layout and a compact spatial organization. Slightly elevated above the ground as a strategy to protect against the terrain’s characteristic moisture, the residence reveals its main construction materials on its facade, which also organize and distinguish the different zones of the program: the ground floor, clad in charred wood, houses the private areas; the staircase, surrounded by wooden sunshades, marks the vertical circulation; the upper floor, dedicated to common areas, is characterized by warm tones.

Project Concept

The upper floor, in turn, is flooded with the warmth of wood. This is revealed not only through the extensive built-in furniture that runs along the entire edge of the house, organizing kitchen utensils and also functioning as a panoramic window overlooking the tree canopy, but also through the presence of wood in the table, chairs, and decorative objects.
