Project Description

Set within a clearing in the forest at Itamambuca Beach, this vacation home features a predominantly square layout and a compact spatial organization. Slightly elevated above the ground as a strategy to protect against the terrain’s characteristic moisture, the residence reveals its main construction materials on its facade, which also organize and distinguish the different zones of the program: the ground floor, clad in charred wood, houses the private areas; the staircase, surrounded by wooden sunshades, marks the vertical circulation; the upper floor, dedicated to common areas, is characterized by tones.

Project Concept

Although the ground floor facade is predominantly closed, the other sides of the building open generously to the landscape through glazed openings. Complementing these openings, the house features a subtle wrap-around porch — an external circulation path — that allows continuous movement around the entire volume and establishes asmooth transition between the architecture and the natural surroundings. The garden, despite its modest size, plays a fundamental role by creating a microcosm of privacy, reinforcing the direct relationship between living and the landscape.
