A large, continuous sofa structures the environment and invites diverse ways of occupation. Its circular configuration references the traditional circle as a symbol of gathering, breaking the conventional hierarchy of lecture spaces to place everyone on equal footing, creating a democratic spatial experience. The design features a strong chromatic appeal, ranging from lilac to cherry and their different shades. The lighting was designed to replicate the circadian rhythm throughout the day. Through the gradual variation of the light's color temperature, the atmosphere shifts continuously, following the natural rhythms of sunlight and directly enhancing the visitors' comfort. Rather than just a technical solution, light acts as a sensory element, bridging architecture, technology, and well-being. Sustainability is integrated throughout the project, guiding material choices and constructive solutions.
Architecture, sustainability and education come together to create an experience of welcoming, lingering, and exchange. Developed by faculty and students from the Architecture and Urbanism program at Centro Universitário Senac, alongside Estudio Guto Requena, the project encourages a reflection on the connections between people, knowledge and space. Conceived as an arena for gathering and the circulation of ideas, the space was designed to slow down the pace and invite visitors to linger, converse, and engage in a sensory experience. Throughout the design process, collective construction served as a central part of the space's narrative, bringing academic teaching and professional practice closer together through a collaborative process that transformed the environment into a territory for experimentation, learning and exchange.
