Mountain Residence blends contemporary hospitality with the traditions and textures of the Ukrainian Carpathians. Designed by YOD Group, the hotel uses local materials and handcrafted elements to create a strong sense of place.
The lobby features 100-year-old beams, a central fireplace, and a 14 km macramé panel depicting a mystical forest. A suspended vine installation — made of wicker — flows across the ceiling, evoking nature breaking through the built form.
Le Grand Restaurant opens to panoramic views and features a 90-meter reed installation — Wind Breaker — that moves across walls and ceilings. A 4-meter Chugayster sculpture, woven from 1,700 grape branches, stands as a glowing symbol of local myth.
Teppan, the hotel’s Pan-Asian restaurant, showcases a minimalist and craft aesthetic. A central bar anchors the space, while a partition of 7,500 handmade fireclay tiles references traditional Asian rooftops.
A 270-seat conference hall features pivoting doors and thermal wood shingles, echoing the traditional Carpathian roofs, and is illuminated by cloud-shaped pendant lamps. Above, the rooftop SPA features a biodesign pool, a cantilevered glass pool, and Molfar’s Bath — a black clay retreat rooted in mountain ritual.
Every design element is intended to enhance the landscape, not compete with it.
