This Gujarat home’s interior is a light, airy patchwork of influences, shapes and textures. Completed in 2024 by designers Huzefa Rangwala and Jasem Pirani of Mumbai-based MuseLAB, the family home blends traditional craftsmanship and modern living.
Named Rehethaan, the 13,000 sq ft residence takes cues from its locale: situated on India’s west coast, overlooking the Gulf waters, it is filled with intricate details that reflect the artisanship associated with Gujarat.
Creating this film presented a series of challenges that pushed the boundaries of traditional architectural storytelling. Balancing the technical demands of filming within the residence’s meticulously designed spaces required both precision and adaptability. Capturing the dynamic personalities of the designers and the client—without overshadowing the architecture—added further complexity. Yet, these very challenges shaped a film that feels fresh, intimate, and authentic, reflecting the synergy between the designers’ vision and the client’s aspirations.
The result is an experimental film that redefines how architecture can be portrayed—through humor, collaboration, and a deep respect for lived experience.
We’re honored that Rehethaan is an Official Selection at the Psarokokalo International Film Festival in Greece, recognizing its unique approach to architectural storytelling.
