Nestled in a serene, wooded environment, Residence SAB emerges amidst a sparse collection of buildings, adjacent to an expansive golf course.
The ground floor includes a luminous south-facing living zone with views, a dining area, kitchen, and outdoor terrace with a barbecue and fireplace. The upper wooden volume hosts four bedrooms and a roof terrace with amenities, while the basement offers garage, wellness, fitness, and lounge areas, linked seamlessly to the outdoor pool. Because 30% of the house is underground, the total volume remains reduced. A fraction of the total terrain footprint was used as occupation by the structure.
The shape and position of the house is dictated by the existing trees, making it longitudal. The design features two distinct volumes on a shared, floating concrete base that responds to the site’s natural slope. A solid wooden volume spans two levels, while a transparent, glass-enclosed space opens toward the forest and pool, sliding beneath the wooden structure. A concrete wall shields the glazed area from the road and neighboring golf course, marking the entrance via a gentle slope. A sunny roof terrace is surrounded by nature.
