SHORTLIST INTERIOR DESIGN | Residential

Project Description

The project aimed to meet the client’s expectations while honoring the house’s architecture and surroundings. Our initial challenge involved a detailed analysis of the structure and spatial distribution to align design interventions with functional needs. This led to strategic changes, like opening the kitchen to the outdoor area and integrating it with the gourmet space for better flow. The interior layout emphasizes fluidity, with organically shaped furniture complementing the house’s curves, enhancing the seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces.

Project Concept

The project blends contemporary design with Brazilian folk art, combining curated pieces with traditional craftsmanship, textures, and coastal influences. An immersive stay in a Trancoso “root” house inspired this emotional curation, where handmade elements take center stage. Taboa fiber rugs, Pequiá ottomans, and Braúna wood tables reflect Bahia’s essence. Natural materials like granite, quartzite, sucupira, and braúna add warmth. The color palette draws from nature: green in the sofa and kitchen, echoing the lush surroundings; blue in the kitchen for a coastal feel; red in chairs for personality; and black, white, and orange, inspired by Indigenous patterns.
