SQUATRO can be considered a retrofit, designed from a pre-existing structure. The architects faced a major challenge in adjusting and adapting the identity of a project that they couldn’t control from the outset, in addition to being located in an area with high traffic and in front of an overpass.
Cities are developing and growing rapidly, and there are no longer any limits on construction. The Squatro represents all these changes, an overpass built on a street where there was already a building population, and where these buildings had to be adapted to a new population reality. This project accompanies the hustle and bustle of daily traffic, and on weekends, it sees people experiencing something more peaceful, when the overpass becomes a space for socializing.
