WINNER ARCHITECTURE | Renovations

Project Description

The project creates new high-quality office spaces by aligning the building with the existing brick volume and demolishing part of the connecting structure to open the courtyard to Viale Fulvio Testi. A new façade system with metal panels, echoing the original concrete design, is introduced. Minimal plan changes enhance the building while preserving the surrounding park. The brick volume is preserved except for window and roof upgrades to improve energy efficiency.

Project Concept

The project enhances and restores a Pirelli complex from the 1950s originally designed as a school-workshop, consisting of a classroom building and a brick factory with a sequence of bays and a shed metal roof. In the 1990s, the building underwent an intervention that significantly altered its interior character. The new proposal acknowledges the potential of the original structural module, which is reclaimed, updated, and reconfigured to create a cohesive design.
