This project was the reason I wanted to become an architect. After years of living with my family in a house that was constantly being renovated, we decided to build a new house on the same site. Even when finished, it had never actually undergone landscaping or interior architecture design. Therefore, a few years after I graduated as an architect, we decided to renovate the entire house in order to make it welcoming both on the outside and inside.
The inspiration for this project carries both Brazilian design traits and an artisanal touch of Japanese inspirations, perhaps due to family origins. I believe that the mix of materials and furniture combinations brought the comfort factor that most spaces lacked of. Custom or handmade details were exclusively made to make this project even more unique. Most of them can be noticed on furniture made by Brazilian artesians.
